My name is Phil Krauts and I am a carpenter and builder with 30 years of experience.
I began my journey in carpentry in 1993, when I completed a 1-year pre-trade course at Unitech polytechnic. From there, I entered a building apprenticeship in Devonport, Auckland, where I spent 5 years restoring Victorian villas. Through this experience, I gained a unique set of skills and a mindset that have set me apart from other builders. I quickly started working for myself, and by the age of 24, I had my own building company.
After building a successful business in New Zealand, I decided to embark on an overseas experience, spending 9 months in the USA and 6 years in the UK building for various companies. Eventually, I set up my own building company in London, which employed 26 carpenters, plumbers, and electricians. This is where the company Insideout was born.
Although I met my wife had my first child in London, I felt a strong pull to return to New Zealand. We left the UK and headed back to New Zealand where I went into business with my father and started a new iteration of Insideout. Since settling in Tauranga in 2007, I have completed numerous spec builds, award-winning homes, as well as renovations and additions. In 2017, my father retired and I now own the business solely. My extensive experience in building and carpentry has allowed me to maintain a high quality of workmanship and has resulted in many happy clients. I am passionate about what I do, and I strive to provide excellent service and a finished product that exceeds your expectations.
